Asmodeus, arch-fiend, the Overlord of all the dukes of Hell rules by both Might and wit. He answers only to Ba'alzebul. He
is physically stronger than any other devil ( as strong as a storm giant) and the most cunning and artful. His mighty palace
rests upon the floor of the lowest rift in Hells ninth plane. His servitors are pit-fiends (q.v.) and whichever of the other
lesser and greater devils he commands to service. Once per year he can command the arch-devils to attend his court and pay
homage. The powers possessed by Asmodeus are vast including the ability to grant
anothers wish.
Role playing notes: Asmodeus uses guile, charm, lies and deceit to gain souls and spirits for his domain. His followers
include lawyers, advocates, tax collectors, and priests dedicated to his service. They are all encouraged to use trickery
and guile first before resorting to uglier methods, such as bribery, blackmail, strong-arm tactics, hostage taking, or outright
violence , although any means are approved as long as the goal is achieved.
Statistics: AL le; WAL lawful evil; AoC guile, and damnation to hell; SY Horned handsome face with glowing red eyes.
Asmodeus does not have an avatar, he sends minions or visits himself. However he only
appears himself to bargain for the souls of very powerful mortals. If he is slain on any plane, he is banished from that plane
for 99 years. He always takes great care when visiting the Prime Material Plane and has to date never been slain there. He
has a glowing rod of pure ruby. It acts as a rod of absorption. The opaline tip of the rod causes serious wounds (2d8+1) on
touch. It is also capable of shooting forth jets of : frost, acid, or lighting as per dragon breath (100 points damage no
save). The rod has an earthly value of 1,000,000 gold pieces aside from its magical properties, and Asmodeus has been known
to give lesser versions of his rod to followers of exceptional ability in getting souls/spirits.
Duties of the priesthood; Priests are required to get souls or spirits for their master. Those living in underpopulated
areas have a low quota per annum, those living in highly populated areas need to get more souls/spirits. The quotas are set
on an individual basis, but it is normal that a priest living in a major city will need to get at least 1 soul/spirit per
week. The souls are usualy gotten by having the victim sign a contract in their own blood although other methods are acceptable
