"Reefer Madness"
The Hel-Gate is a large artifact (20' by 20' by 5'). It is made of platinum and filagreed with intricate scrollwork, and
has extraordinary powers. Amongst the known powers, it has Mass Gating from from 1 area to another. It was used in the taking
of Sargun, and the Visian forces plan to use it in the taking of Moradon. After the assault on Sargun, the Dwarven High Command
got their chief wizard to enact a dying curse on the Hel-Gate. Anytime the gate opens an invisible sharp "Chainlink fence"
covers the entire opening. Dash is too busy working on a secret project to try to fix it, so he assigned the task to his personal
assistant "Gusto". Gusto requesitioned a high priest from the priest corps and they assigned him Bæl Prime. They
have determined that a spell can be written using divine AND arcane magic blended. To make this spell they need a special
new type of ink. All the inks they have are designed for either arcane of divine spells, so they have to build everything
from scratch; paper, ink, quills, etc. 1 elusive key ingrediant for the ink is Reef-Tears. They have sent 2 teams to get them
from the underwater triton community and both teams were lost, never to be seen again. Reef-Tears can only be made at a depth
of 200 feet below sea level, at this pressure, a liquid is extracted from coral reef shards. There is a band of tritons that
live near the reef Mad Hatten, who have the skill to make them.
The Visian Quest party is given the quest of getting reef tears and given a saugin warrior to lead them to the triton
lair. The party manages to avoid a death trap set by the saugin, and successfully negotiate with the tritons to get the reef
tears. Along the way they encountered a patrol ship for the city of York, they captured it and sailed it back to enlist it
into the growing navy of the Visian Fleet. Captain Wolf was very pleased with this.
Adventure #5 "Fart of Darkness" -W. Conrad
Captain Thwok, sends the aquanautical party to retrieve ink from an undersea creature known as"The Devil's Handmaiden"
by the local sailors. Some say it is an enormous Squid, some say a gargantuan Octopus, others say it is a miniature Kraken.
Whatever it is, it is directly responsible for the death of over 100 Sargun sailors. It is rumored to live somewhere north
of ANVIL Island. You are to obtain 1 gallon of ink for use by Gusto in his efforts to restore the Hel-Gate to operational
status in time to be used in the upcoming secret assault code named "Take Moradon"
On the way to the devil's handmaiden, the ship was attacked by 3 giant hornets, 2 of them were fried in the air by a burning
hands, and 1 was sliced into pieces by a sword.
The Party found the lair of the Huge Octopus, and made intelligent use of some divination to look for and find a secret
back door to the underwater caverens. Going in the back door, they were able to take on the octopus first, defeat the tritons
and avoid the trap at the front of the cave. The octopus had 15,000 gold pieces which probably doubled the party's entire
gold supply and everyone made level. JLT barely managed to survive, by hiding, turning invisible, and covering under the dead
body of the octopus, pictured is him being strangled by the octopus before it was defeated.
