(5/6/07) A week passes, in which time the family gets settled in and starts making Charles's home more homey. Rina has some
disturbing dreams 1 night and wakes up the whole house. Her sisters tend to her and apply cold cloths to her head, as she
has some sort of fever. By the next morning, she seems fine, and the clerics declare her well and recovered. Charles gives
the family a chart he has been working on of the portion of the family tree that he knows. (See attachment) Charles also works
on some contacts and eventually comes up with some useful information, the possible address of Damacles (K12). Esterhaus and
Charles spend some time redecorating, and the other children go investigate into finding Damacles.
Upon leaving the walled portion of town, the Smiths are set upon by some of "The Emperor's Children" This is
a euphemism for bums, urchins, unfortunate poor people. The 10 children surround the Smiths and start picking pockets. When
Elowishious finds an urchin's hand in his pants, he grabs the kid and smacks him into a wall. As the urchin is being slain,
he manages to toss the purse to another urchin. Elowishious steps over the bloody corpse to grab a ¼brick and bean the next
urchin. He picks up the unconscious youth and takes his purse back. No child robs Elowishious, and lives undamaged to tell
the tale!
The Smiths then proceed to investigate the house and they find that it has been torn apart and searched before they
got there. There are blood stains and signs of violence. However 1 of the Smith children was observant enough (roll 27 out
of 20) to notice a piece of paper stuck under the bed. It is written in Gaelic!!
Taking the paper back to Charlie's house, they got Esterhaus to translate it for them. It made mention of some past
history of the Smith family and it also led them to building L10. The Smith's decided to go stake out the building. They did
some information gathering in the neighborhood, but didn't get much. They eventually decided to break in at night. They waited
until the hooded elf-guy left and then they broke open some boards in the window in the back of the building and Elowishious
grabbed the remaining boards to yank them out. This is when he was struck in the hand with a machete. They managed to get
inside and Marie smacked the heck out of the Helspawn inside in 1 round of deliberate critical slashing. As they were setting
up an ambush, the elf returned with 2 more helspawn, who were invisible. A fight broke out where Elowishious was knocked unconcious,
and Marie kicked some more butt. When the dust settled, the Smiths were victorious and they gathered all the treasure to divide
it up. A spell book was found and Rina seemed to want to study it intensely.
